Last night, I decided to tap my pitot tube mast and the Dynon heated pitot tube to 6-32. Everything went smoothly until the last hole...the damn tap snapped in the pitot tube flange. Damn!
I tried to drill it out, but stopped when I realized I would just do more damage. I'm taking it to a machine shop where they can do it right!
Tonight, I mixed up a 66 gram batch of proseal, scuffed the stiffeners, fuel cap flange and the fuel drain flange, cleaned with acetone and layered on the proseal. Once the proseal was on each piece, I clecoed along the way. All of the parts were 100% clecoed.
Once the proseal sets up in a couple of days, I'll wet set the rivets and add the fuel vent bracket to the fuel tank flange.
Left fuel tank stiffeners prosealed & 100 % clecoed
